Turin’s Citizen Science Lab is coming to the table

A first community session laid the groundwork for SpoonTO: Food Lab Cittadino.

On 10 October 2025, our partners Rete delle Case del Quartiere and City of Turin, through the Department for European Funds and the Department of Social Services, organised the first introductory meeting to launch SpoonTO: Food Lab Cittadino, SPOON’s Citizen Science Lab in Turin.

The meeting took place at Casa del Quartiere di San Salvario (Turin) and brought together residents eager to share ideas, stories, and connections. The event provided the first opportunity to introduce the project and discuss the activities that will engage citizens in the Turin pilot.

The meeting involved 16 participants, including residents from different neighbourhoods, representatives of Torino Solidale, social workers, and members of local community organisations. Conversations focused on the active role of citizens in shaping a fair, sustainable, and healthy local food system, reflecting a strong curiosity and willingness to stay engaged in the SPOON initiative.

The event marked the beginning of a shared journey, bringing the community together to help shape Turin’s food system.

Stay tuned as Turin’s Citizen Science Lab takes shape!
