This report presents the results of a consumer research study within the SPOON project, which investigated the main barriers and enablers influencing the sharing of food-related personal data in the context of citizen science initiatives. This research applied a mixed-methods approach combining a scoping review of 41 academic publications with qualitative validation through focus groups conducted across six Citizen Science Labs in Europe.

The SPOON Monitoring Toolkit complements the D5.1 SPOON Evaluation framework with templates and monitoring methods to ensure streamlined implementation of data collection and monitoring activities.
It is a practical reference for all SPOON partners on how to ensure smooth and effective monitoring and evaluation, including baseline evaluation, and specific activities for CSL iterations, also providing a foundation for formative evaluation and final evaluation.

This deliverable presents the first version of the SPOON Data Governance Framework, developed to ensure
trustworthy, interoperable, and citizen-centered data governance within the SPOON digital toolset. The
framework builds upon European Union data regulations, especially GDPR policies. It is structured around five key principles: User Control, GDPR Compliance, Transparency and Trust, Ethical Handling, and Scalability and Interoperability.

This deliverable describes the main sets of activities to be carried out by the SPOON Citizen Science Labs in 6 European pilot regions following the SPOON methodological framework. The framework combines Citizen Science and Living
Labs methodologies. CSLs will firstly implement Citizen Science projects to then co-design Behavioural Change Interventions to contribute to reach improved food systems in each region.

The SPOON Evaluation Framework (SEF) outlines how partners and stakeholders will create and evaluate project impact. SEF is based on a transformation-oriented approach that embraces complexity, while remaining practical, and focuses on learning and enhancing impact potential. SEF covers the evaluation of the project with a particular focus on key project activities such as the Citizen Science Labs, the Digital Toolset, as well as Behaviour Change Interventions.

The plan outlines the project’s stepwise exploitation strategy, including the use of a shared KER master file, Innovation Radar-inspired maturity assessment, and IP foreground tracking. It also explores synergies with relevant EU-funded initiatives and presents a forward-looking trends analysis to contextualise SPOON’s potential for long-term impact.

This deliverable presents the first version of the Data Management Plan (DMP) for the SPOON project. This formal document provides a framework and overview for how data will be handled during and after the SPOON project. The objective of this DMP is to detail what data will be generated by the project. It also specifies the standards and methodologies for data collection and management, as well as strategies to ensure that data will be made findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable (FAIR principles).
