The first SPOON results are now available through a collection of three practice abstracts developed within the framework of the European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability (EIP-AGRI), a widely used approach in European research and innovation projects to support the dissemination of practice-oriented knowledge.
Published on the project website and on the EU CAP Network project page, the three abstracts translate SPOON’s findings into accessible, practice-oriented knowledge, encouraging their uptake by researchers, practitioners, community leaders and other stakeholders. Together, they address complementary dimensions of food-system innovation, offering practical solutions to real-world challenges.
The first abstract, “Citizen Science Labs: engaging citizens to transform food systems”, explores the role of Citizen Science Labs as participatory spaces where citizens actively contribute to the co-design and testing of solutions for more sustainable and inclusive local food systems.
The second, “Overcoming barriers to sharing food-related personal data: practical insights for practitioners”, examines the challenges and enabling conditions for sharing food-related personal data, highlighting the importance of trust and transparency in data-driven approaches.
The third, “Guidelines for implementation and replication of Citizen Science Labs”, provides operational guidance for setting up and replicating Citizen Science Labs, outlining key elements related to governance, stakeholder engagement, and adaptation to different territorial contexts.
Practice abstracts play a key role in this ecosystem, increasing the visibility and accessibility of project results, supporting knowledge exchange, and strengthening the links between research, policy and practice. As SPOON progresses, further practice abstracts and results will be released to support the wider uptake of solutions for more sustainable and inclusive food systems.
