On November 3-5, SPOON will bring citizen science insights on food data and trust to Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona.

At its stand, our partner PNO will host an interactive activity aimed at city representatives and other urban and food-system stakeholders. Visitors will be invited into a short, guided conversation: what makes food data worth sharing, and useful enough for cities to act on?

The activity draws on real experiences from SPOON’s six Citizen Science Labs (CSLs) in Bruges, Braunschweig, Pomurje, Valencia, Turin and Thessaloniki. In each local residents collect and analyse data, explore food behaviours and test ways to improve them.

The session builds on SPOON’s ongoing clustering activities with the Data4Food cluster and on the experiences being prepared for the upcoming FOOD 2030 workshop in Dublin.

Held in Barcelona since 2011, Smart City Expo World Congress is the world’s biggest and most influential event for cities and urban innovation. Every year, we bring together leaders from global companies, governments and organizations to move cities towards a better future.
